Kielbasa Sandwiches with Beer Braised Sauerkraut for the past week

Kielbasa Sandwiches with Beer Braised Sauerkraut for the past week I’ve been CRAVING this sandwich. Haven’t had it in years, but growing up every so often my dad would make these for dinner, kielbasa on the grill. Last night I elevated it a bit by beer braising the kraut and it was absolutely delish. Also, is the only way to go here! By cooking the kielbasa on my grill pan I got the most perfect lines and snap on them. I threw some lightly buttered rolls right into the cast iron as well. Serve it up with some garlicky kale and you have a great weeknight meal in a flash!

– 1 pkg kielbasa
– 1 pkg sauerkraut
– salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder
– 2 cloves chopped garlic
– classic yellow mustard
– 2 of your favorite rolls
– butter
– olive oil

Beer Braised Kraut:
– drain and rinse your sauerkraut. In a small pot heat two cloves garlic with olive oil for one minute. Add sauerkraut to the pan along with a few shakes of garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper. Add one can of beer (I used a IPA). Bring to a boil them reduce to a simmer. Stir and cover and let cook for 30 minutes.

Cut your kielbasa link into pieces and then in half lengthwise. Cook your links on both sides through for 4-5 minutes per side. Lightly butter the inside of the roll and toast that side down for 2 minutes.
